FPH Law achieves Cyber Essentials again!

FPH Law is proud to announce that it has successfully achieved its Cyber Essentials Certification for a second year.

What is Cyber Essentials?

Cyber Essentials is a simple but effective Government backed scheme that helps protect organisations, whatever their size, against a whole range of the most common cyber attacks.  The Government worked with the Information Assurance for Small and Medium Enterprises (IASME) consortium and the Information Security Forum (ISF) to develop Cyber Essentials, a set of basic technical controls to help organisations protect themselves against common online security threats.  The full scheme, launched on 5 June 2014, enables organisations to gain one of two Cyber Essentials badges. It is backed by industry including the Federation of Small Businesses, the CBI and a number of insurance organisations which are offering incentives for businesses.

How does Cyber Essentials help an organisation?

The scheme helps organisations take the initial steps towards protecting themselves from online cyber criminals. It measures an organisation against five key security controls – which when met, give an organisation confidence that it’s protected against the most common cyber threats.

Therefore, a Cyber Essentials certified organisation can be assured that it’s successfully taken the initial steps towards establishing a good level of cyber security hygiene – while communicating this assurance to its customers and stakeholders with a Government-endorsed standard.
